Kilpeck (Herefordshire)

The famous figure on corbel-table of the beautiful Romanesque church, which
accompanies several other 'sinful' corbels,
including musicians and acrobats, lustful beasts (dog and hare) and a
muzzled bear, presumably one forced to dance
- perhaps on hot coals - 'for the amusement of the peasantry'.
This figure has been copied at least once in subsequent centuries.

The vault of the chancel in the church has fine, feline rib-swallowers.
